  • What thieves target at open houses and how to be prepared
  • Safety tips to remember before and after showing a property

Presenter Bio

Sergeant Preston Taylor is a police officer in Northern Michigan with over 17 years of experience. During his career he has become certified as an instructor in several different areas of Defensive Tactics including hands on, taser, and pepper spray. In addition, Taylor is a lead Instructor at Northwestern Michigan College's Police Academy. In 2005, Taylor formed Grand Traverse Personal Protection, a company that provides public speaking and instruction to individuals who want to take ownership of their personal safety. Taylor has also been active in the martial arts since the age of 13 earning black belts in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do.

SOMLS Tech Camp 2014

Welcome to Tech Camp! SOMLS is proud to host its first ever technology education fair on October 18, 2014, at Bigham Knoll in Jacksonville, OR. The event is designed to inform, educate (and yes – entertain!) REALTORS® about every technology tool available to them.

The day will begin and end with keynote presentations by two stars of the realty world. Between the speeches, there will be four rounds of breakout sessions led by trusted partners such as Rapattoni, RPR, Listingbook and Supra, as well as by experts who will explore the worlds of mobile apps and photography/videography.

Midday you'll break for a trade show lunch, and visit with representatives of every facet of the real estate industry. The entire event will be staged at the historic, and beautiful, Bigham Knoll Campus.
